Comments Thread For: Bradley Warns Brook Of Tough Night Ahead Versus Chaves

WBO king Timothy Bradley has warned Kell Brook he does not know how tough a fight he is in when he defends his IBF World Welterweight title against Diego Chaves at the Sheffield Arena on October 24, live on Sky Sports Box Office.

Brook recently moved into Ring magazine’s top ten pound-for-pound rankings and makes the third defence of his crown at his hometown fortress after ‘The Special One’ forced mandatory challenger Jo Jo Dan to retire after four rounds of his first defence there in March and then faced Frankie Gavin in his second defence in London in May, ending the Birmingham man’s challenge in the sixth round at The O2.

Chaves enters the clash on the back of a split draw with Bradley having also taken on Brandon Rios and Keith Thurman in his last four fights and Bradley believes the Argentine could rip the IBF title from the Sheffield man’s grasp next month.

“It’s a tough fight for Kell Brook, he doesn’t realise that,” said Bradley. [Click Here To Read More]

Everyone knows that I am a big fan of Argentine boxing and I have said this fight would be tough and entertaining since it was speculated upon. I like Brook and I have admitedly been tough on him for his choices of opponents however despite Chaves not being a huge name everyone knows that he is a tough and solid guy. I have spoken to a couple of journalists from Argentina and they've said that if you are well prepared you should beat him but he doesn't come without a fight. Thurman said he'd be surprised if Brook stops him. I expect a good fight and I fancy Brook to win a very late stoppage or a UD. The biggest problem for Chaves is that he has a very short reach (66"). Chaves is a boxer puncher, with decent power and speed and can also be quite slick.

Chaves is listed as 5'7 1/2

He looks bigger than that IMO.

This will be a cherry pick, gone wrong. Chaves beats this hype job.

Side note... How in the world did Kell make the P4P list?

diego chaves is a tough fighter. he was giving thurman a very tough fight before that stoppage, he was beating rios before the dq, and he gave bradley a good fight (but i thought bradley clearly won it).

i can easily see chaves pulling off the upset. he has very quick hands, good power, good defense, a good enough chin.

                  Yep.

People are sleeping on this fight, it'll be action packed and competitive imo. I see it going to distance.

Brook wins (probably by stoppage). Don't just tell me I'm wrong... get your green out.
