punk floyd went out like the coward he is. didn't or couldn't ko a mediocre berto (even though many of his die hard fans said he would), he looked very boring as usual beating berto, and the ppv numbers were pathetic for the supposed tbe fighting his last fight.

it just goes to show that floyd can't sell a fight and never could. only reason people bought his fights were for the opponent (pac, cotto, canelo, maidana, etc.) and the undercard, not for him.

Not all songs end of a heavy note and some don't even end of a pleasant note. When you look at the past greats who went out on the stool or on their back, pocketing 30 million and walking away with a victory over Berto isn't bad.

I just hope this is the end for him. He's given enough and it is clear that he is physically spent.

The commission? You mean the USADA tester who USADA claims was there even though there is no proof? USADA has lied in the past. They told ESPN and SI that only Morales A sample had tested positive. USADA says what ever they are paid to say. That is why USADA and not VADA handles Al Haymon fights. After VADA busted two Haymon fighters, hello USADA.

Yes, he went out against a decent, but not great fighter. Yes, it was a vanilla performance filled with safe clinches and 1-punch exchanges.

I suppose he should have gone out like Ali? Or Holyfield? Or Roy Jones? All the guys who held on for far too long and can now barely speak? They didn't know when their time was up and started losing to mediocre guys; or took brutal beating against great ones (hello Ali vs. Holmes).

Mayweather knew he didn't need it anymore, and didn't want to be remembered as a guy who held on for too long. Fans - myself included - want him to keep fighting just to watch him reach that point where he gets beat so we can laugh as though we've won something. I'm glad he didn't do that. As if that would somehow prove he's a fraud.

I suppose the dream is to finish like Marciano, who KO'd his last opponent, but not everyone is engineered that way.
