He never has. He has avoided pure boxers his entire career, especially anyone with legitimate amateur pedigree.

    Tszyu, Casamayor, Lara, etc...

Closest he ever came was Cotto probably. But he waited, him out of his prime to when he was sluggish, and ringworn.

He's made a point of avoiding them which is fair enough. It's why I said months ago he wouldn't pick Khan. If Zab Judah makes things difficult in your prime Khan would be a bad choice when you're 38.

JMM is good but the circumstances of that fight make it difficult to recognize.

Pac was never a fundamentally skilled boxer. Just incessantly good timing and stamina but he's taken tons of damage and his style was never polished.

Marquez. Boxing Technique Marquez was his biggest challenge but that fight was over looked by many because of Marquez jump in weight. Beginning of the fight, Mayweather actually didn't fight much like the Mayweather of now; throwing beautiful lunging left hooks, not moving as much, and attacking Marquez. Of course most likely because of the climb up in weight for Marquez, but Marquez to his credit did at times land and land well.

Judah,Castillo,Corrales,Gatti,Fatton(Hatton),Ortiz ,Guerrero,Pac, and Berto are far from Technical Boxers. Cotto, Alvarez and De La Hoya are great boxers but not as technically sound as I believe Marquez is and as dangerous as Marquez can be.
