holding and running is not part of boxing, its the most overlooked rule violation in boxing.

I wish they enforce it more.

Its weird because they enforce those rules in the Amateurs, you are not allowed to hold or run, you have to mix it up if you move you must throw combos, they score on punches landing not defense or you slipping shots.

If you turn your back and run or run away after getting hit hard many times they rule that a knockdown in the Ams.

Honestly, I think its very ****ing disrespectful of a commentator to say "I'm so happy right now" when seeing someone on the floor completely out of it. And as for being "old school where its standard to count a guy out", the sport has moved forwards in terms of health and safety for a reason, with the amount of fighters you see that ended up with brain damage, its a good thing that refs call fights off when they know the other guy can't continue instead of just standing there and counting them when they clearly need medical attention.

Funny how these people who say "I'm so happy right now" to seeing somebody knocked out cold and being completely out of it and these people justifying the ref counting out a guy who is clearly unfit to continue and needs medical attention are the ones that aren't getting in there and risking their health.

As much as we love the sport there is more things to life than boxing and if we need to sacrifice a bit of excitement for the sake of the fighters being in better health after their careers then so be it.

Man I agree with you 100 percent. Merchant and Lampley saying how happy they are was messed up and unprofessional while Roger looked like he saw a ghost laying on the rope unconscious.

I am not even laughing at this KO at all, just blown away about how boring the fight was and how the KO came out of nowhere nobody expected it. It was an impressive grazing KO.

Now making fun is those Mayweather fans making fun of Pacquiao being KO'd and making memes about it, thats making fun, I did none of that.

Thats the same reaction that would have happen if Pac landed a ko punch on Floyd after Floyd ran and hold all fight, but 100 times more amplified from the crowd.

You know May 2nd burned souls when folks are reduced to finding 25+ year old clips of Floyd's uncle 'running' and being dropped and fantasizing on how great it would have been if that was Manny throwing such a punch.

Even though am not making fun of roger or Floyd snr, I find it harder when they are in TBE corner and then they want him to engage more, like walk someone down and KO that person, I use to think this is the TBE at super featherweight now, this is the older and more defensive version of TBE.
