Why do boxing fans act like promoters....

Of their favorite fighters lol.....seriously nobody as fans should give a **** who gets paid more.....I want to see the best fighting the best....I want to see ggg vs canelo, mayweather vs ggg, pacquiao vs canelo, ward vs ggg, kovalev vs ward, kovalev vs stevenson, rigo vs loma, loma vs walters & other great fights., i don't care about the politics of Boxing ....I'm a fan not a business man..... if its possible it's makeable....

Because they prefer the illusion of invincibility to the truth.

there's no discussion to be had from that. obviously we all want to see every possible good fight. but when i talk about boxing i prefer to try to understand how and why things happen as they happen and to use my understanding to forecast what might happen in the future. call it a dialectical materialist approach, as opposed to an inane utopian one

I agree but when you have guys getting $1 million for mismatches , Why would that guy want to step up when he already making good money?

You already know why...Fans of the sport are different from fans of certain fighters and don't really want to see their guy in a real fight....Just look at the Golovkin/Ward situation....Willie Monroe was paid a mere $300,000 to fight the big money "A-side" Gennady, while Edwin Rodriguez was paid 1 Mil to fight "bornig" Andre Ward but you constantly hear fanboys claim Ward brings no money and has no fans. Fans of the sport know this is one of the best fights that can be made and would sell lots of PPVs but fanboys are afraid he will lose so they lie to themselves and throw Kovalev's name in the mix, which is really a promoters job to protect their fighter...

I think the problem is the best vs the best fights don't happen as much as they should & there are so many hoops to jump thru between promoters, TV channels, alphabet groups as well as fighters & their managers it makes fights getting made so complicated. So with that reality fans battling out business points is a more realistic discussion than who'd win a fight between the same guys if they can somehow jump through all the hoops & agree to fight.
