Another thing that people need to remember is that the UFC has got most of the real hitttas out there.
UFC officially bigger than Boxing?

MMA has been bigger and better then boxing for years. Wake up people. Look at the numbers. Boxing is dying. That is a fact. I wish I could say otherwise.
Plus the ufc makes all the big fights as where in boxing guys like Manny duck Floyd for 10 years and everybody ducking GGG.
My favourite MMA fights are Anderson Silva vs GSP, prime UFC champ Chuck vs prime Pride Champ Silva and Fedor vs Couture.Comment

Explain how? UFC stars don't make more money! They don't draw larger crowds! No one in UFC has ever drawn as much attention as Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquaio did earlier this year! And, unless you are ****** enough to believe the PPV numbers that Dana White gives you, they don't draw bigger PPV audiences!
So, exactly how are they outshining boxing stars? Oh, wait! UFC stars have been talking more s...t over the last few months about Floyd Mayweather than boxing stars. Is that what you mean?Comment

Other than the Floyd - Pac fight, which was an anomaly never before seen in the sports world and most likely never to be seen again in our lifetimes, when was the last boxing PPV to come close to 1 million buys? When will the next one be? Do you think Cotto - Canelo, currently the biggest fight boxing has to offer, will get more buys than Rousey will in her next PPV in Australia?
We will be able to compare them very soon and we will discover if the current biggest fight in the boxing world can top a UFC card headlined by TWO women's fights.Comment

Do you think Haymon is paying his fighters over the top dollars because he cares about their future? He is paying them because he gets a cut of every purse. The more the fighter makes, the more Haymon makes.
Think the owners of football teams are all broken up over the discovery of severe brain injuries related to the sport? They don't give a crap. All that they care about is that they cannot be sued over it.
And the fans certainly do not care if someone gets hurt or killed in the ring. Give them swords and shields, let them fight to the death and you will get even more fans following the sport.Comment

Everybody knows that Dana White and the UFC executives are not the draw. They are not the A-Side, they are not the B-Side. They're just a bunch of rich guys who collect money off of the risk their fighters take.
It's very similar to a Floyd Mayweather approach to business. Floyd takes the lion's share and pays peanuts to his opponent in comparison to what he gets paid. Mayweather's opponent's are taking just as much a risk to their lives in the ring as Floyd Mayweather, but that still doesn't stop people from thinking Mayweather deserves a 90/10 split and 100% PPV sales.
Of course, Floyd actually goes in the ring to fight, but in theory, Dana White pretty much practices the same business model employed by Floyd Mayweather.
