Comments Thread For: Danny Garcia: Spence Needs Better Wins Before a Shot

Former WBA/WBC junior welterweight champion Danny Garcia (31-0, 18KOs), who recently moved up to the welterweight division, believes rising prospect Errol Spence (18-0, 15KOs) has yet to prove that he's worthy of receiving a crack at the top fighters at 147-pounds.

For Spence to get a top guy at the weight, he needs to face - and beat - a better level of opposition, says Garcia.

A win over Spence could've catapulted Thurman right into the Floyd sweepstakes. But what does he do? He runs scared with lame excuses.

Thurman, at the end of the day (as he likes to say a lot), hasn't fought any real competition either. At least Spence has Olympian on his resume.

Thurman thinks that beating a blown up past his prime Robert Guerrero has earned him the right to call all the shots and merit a fight with Floyd. GTFO!!!

I guess Danny Garcia is following in line.

I think Spence beats them both.

garcia is right but spence is being ducked so he fights whoever they put in front of him.on the adversity part garcia is wrong. sometimes fighters are that good and may not face adversity . does that mean that they're not deserving? and when did garcia become champion at 147?

garcia ducking the good fighters. This dude is damaged goods and hasn't fought any dangerous fighters since matthyesse. garcia will continue to look for easy fights. lol He should give up his belt then he wont have to worry about fight high ranked competition. Danny "THE GIFT" garcia.

Spence needs Berto or Guerrero. Haymon should put Berto vs. Spence on the undercard of Garcia vs. Guererro.

Literally the only reason anyone is talking about Spence fighting these guys is because Mayweather publicly endorsed him recently.

a win over Spence brings nothing to Thurman, people will say Spence was green and bla bla bla. Thurman wouldnt get any credit.Spence shoud think about fighting top guys, at least someone from top 50.
