Lol boxing fans and their infinite wisdom. You guys are always against rematches of good competitive fights but call for them in complete blow outs.

I think Mares can win a rematch, he seemed very disappointed with his team after the fight because they gave him horrid advice. Mares probably didn't expect Cruz to fight from the outside but now that he's seen that faucet in him can do better prepare for the rematch.

Wow, some people thought it was an easy Santa Cruz win, and even worse, a "boring" fight?

I personally had it 7-5 Santa Cruz in a great fight, the cards were too wide. I would prefer something like Santa Cruz-GRJ and Mares against somebody decent, but if both are going back to fighting sub-par opposition then I'd be all for a rematch.

The thing is, I'd much prefer them to have a rematch then to see both guys go back to fighting some easy matches, which is a likely scenario. Gary Russell would be the best fight for Santa Cruz but I'm almost certain we don't see that one for a while so a Mares rematch sounds good in the meantime. First one was great and most fans, outside of the boxing snobs on here, loved it.

I thought Santa Cruz won convincingly enough that no rematch is called for. Mares did way too much holding making the fight less entertaining than it could have been. I am sure Leo would easily beat Mares again and there are other fighters I would rather see Santa Cruz fight.

Don't look at the WBO champion his not a PBC fighter

Mares is fighting in a weght class he has no business being in, needs to drop in weight class and fight fighters his own size. To small and not strong enough
