Canelo has had trouble(as a lot of fighters do) against fighters with solid jabs and movement. Cotto has that and he's great at hooking off the jab.

Ironically if he could get him to spar with him, probably the best possible sparring partner Canelo could pick would be his former opponent Alfonso Gomez. Save the athletic ability, Gomez would do a very good simulation of Cotto.
The thing about sparring partners is you never fined one that can do everything your opponent can. This is why camps have more then one partner. Stevens is the same height as Cotto and has really good punching power, he can also get into Canelo close and load up which is one of the things that Cotto does very well. Obviously Stevens is not Cotto, so movement, jab and defense will be mimicked by other sparring partners. It is a good choice of sparring partner, but yes Stevens is closer to Kirkland then he is to Cotto.

If Canelo avoids Golovkin after beating Cotto, he will be stripped of his title and everyone will look at him as a coward. I don't think that is an image Canelo wants or that ODLH wants for his top fighter. If Cotto wants a rematch, he can have what's left of Canelo after GGG is done with him.

personally i firmly believe that canelo will destroy cotto, so rematch will not be needed, but i also think that canelo-ggg will end up happening until sept 2016, oscar is going to match canelo with a big MW at the full 160 before GGG, and of course this will happen with an agreement with GGG, find it hard to believe that canelo has never fought at the full 160 versus a full fledged MW and his first fight goes straight to GGG...
but then again if cotto manages to make a close fight, the rematch will happen with or without a title and no one will care...
the only one calling cowards will be GGG fans, and they are already doing it, so it makes no difference...

There is not a chance in HELL that Golovkin will take another step aside deal to let Canelo have another fight. Not unless Oscar wants to pay him some ridiculous amount like 10 million or something. IT. IS. NOT. GOING. TO. HAPPEN!

Whoever comes out of that fight with the title fights GGG next or vacates the title. And counter to what everyone around here loves to try and pretend... TITLES ARE IMPORTANT TO FIGHTERS. They are also important to the promotion of a fight. No fighter gives up a title lightly. Well other than Quillin. Fighters care about titles. Promoters care about titles. Trainers and managers care about titles and MOST OF ALL, FANS CARE ABOUT TITLES.

nah, fighters will prefer a mega fight over titles, at the end of the day is the money that will feed their families when they are gone from boxing, and to top it off casuals dont even know who has titles and who doesnt, i have friends that dont even know canelo doesnt hold a title, some even saw marquez as a champion after he beated pac... ask any 154 fighter who they will prefer to fight, charlo for a title, or canelo for the fame and money??

That's true, but the winner of Canelo vs Cotto brings both the title and the money, by far the best money above 147. And notice every reputable ranking has Cotto above GGG at MW. That's also something that needs fixing.

eith, i agree with you, cotto didnot deserved that shot vs maravilla to begin with, and canelo doesnt deserve a shot either...
thats to show how corrupt wbc is and that makes the title even less credible....
