Comments Thread For: Arum: Quigg-Doniare Talks May Pick Back Up in '16

As BoxingScene.com previously reported, Top Rank promoter Bob Arum has almost given up on getting the WBA title fight between champion Scott Quigg of Britrain and five division world champion Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire done this year unless they can stage it in Dubai.

Arum disclosed he’s been talking to ABS-CBN sports consultant Peter Musgni about the possibility of working with the giant broadcast network and The Filipino Channel – TFC – to salvage the title fight.

Why are you blaming Arum when it's clearly not his fault?

Get over the whole Mayweather/Pacquiao **** already. It happened. It was ****. It's over.

it goes far beyond mayweather pac are u kidding? arum always pretends to negotiate a fight that way he can act like he tried then makes the fight he really wanted to make

But they did negotiate the fight. Hearn confirmed they were in talks. It's Hearn that pulled the plug, not Arum. Did you even bother to read the article?

ya i read it thats always been the narrative tho. arum says the other fighter wants to much money now he can technically say they tried to make the fight. that way when the other promoter pulls out he can say he tried. this is nothing new come on now. Hearn seems to use the same tactics to be fair

lets not sit here and pretend this has not always been the way arum does business. were talking about a guy who invented in house only fights and pretending to negotiate so they can go against guy that will sign and only get 5 or 10% or the in house fighter who has no chance.

Thats why i get so defensive with pbc sometimes cause people give a pass to arum for doing the same crap

But the other promoter did pull out and Arum did try. You're not really making a salient point.
