People are too obsessed with numbers. Even if Joe or Floyd did go 50 and 0 they wouldn't really be breaking Marciano's record because they would have defeated 50 completely different fighters than the fighters Marciano defeated. Maybe better or maybe worse but certainly different fighters. The quality of the fighters defeated is much more important than the number of fighters defeated. Floyd, Joe and Rocky all had great careers and never lost a fight. Would one more win for Mayweather or 4 more wins for Calzaghe really make their record that much better? Rocky was still young when he retired undefeated. If he knew there would be such a fuss over breaking his record he probably could have defeated 5 or 10 more guys and then retired and then 60 and 0 would be the number to beat.
