Comments Thread For: Paul Smith Speaks With Hearn, Ready For The Road Back

Paul Smith is back in the gym and ready to fight again.

The 32-year-old super-middleweight was contemplating retirement after his catchweight loss to Andre Ward in California in June, which followed back-to-back world title defeats by WBO champion Arthur Abraham.

Smith (35-6-KO20), who will be working ringside for his brother Stephen's world title eliminator against Devis Boschiero live on Sky Sports on Saturday, recently became a father again but is ready to give boxing one more crack.

Road back to where? He's not even the best super middleweight in his family.

Agreed, that looks like an easy to make fight and would be a decent gauge of how formidable Murray is at 168. If Murray wins, he could get a shot at Abraham.

In all honestly, Paul Smith must be eating whatever he wants during camp if his camps are genuinely 12-14 weeks (which is far too long for a camp anyway), given the condition he shows up in. He must be constantly cheating on his diet or he'd look like every other well-conditioned athlete on the scales. You actually look at him and you think he could COMFORTABLY make 160 if he is genuinely smashing out circuits and hill sprints and training twice a day.
