The explanation they provide for the Morales business seems like a generally satisfactory response. I am a little skeptical about their willingness to entertain the meat story at first, as they admit to telling all involved parties this was a possible explanation. Also, I don't understand why they waited until after the fight to hand over the two year ban. Additionally, why did the NYSAC not think to stop the fight? Shrug. If the phone call USADA claims to have had with NYSAC on 10/17/12 did take place, Hauser is buggin about the importance of NYSAC having it in their files. If anything, it seems odd that NYSAC did not have a record of it.
The explanation provided for the Mayweather/Pacquiao fight is still not totally satisfactory to me personally. It had been reported earlier that the testing for this particular fight included CIR testing, so I don't know why Hauser was going on about that. But USADA's language in this document regarding CIR testing is telling. "In fact, in some cases all the samples in the lead up to a particular fight have been CIR tested." In other words, they are admitting that they do not perform CIR tests on every sample (which Hauser pointed out that VADA does do). Also, they knew about the prohibited IV but did not notify the NSAC or Pacquiao about it until after the approved TUE application. It seems bizarre to me that, though they did not even know Mayweather would apply for a TUE until days afterwards (their words, not mine) that they did not feel the need to notify anyone in the meantime. They ultimately have not explained why they did not have any problem at any point with the use of a WADA prohibited method that is not clinically indicated for dehydration. Also later they say "USADA has not given any waivers to use a prohibited substance" but they had also said they provided Mayweather the retroactive TUE? Unless I guess they are only referring to prohibited substances and not prohibited methods? In which case they intentionally worded that response in a way that does not make clear whether such TUEs had been granted by them before.
A lot of their response is nit-picky. They repeat over and over again that they do not receive $10m in funding from the government. Hauser used the term "approximately 10m" iirc, the exact amount was not suggested to be important in his article. I took a peak at a couple of years of funding on their website - in 2011 they received just shy of $9m and in 2014 they received $8.75m.Last edited by BrometheusBob.; 09-18-2015, 07:02 AM.Comment

In their defense, USADA claims that 1) they did not know about any positive tests until after the last tests were conducted, 2) they do not have the ability to stop the fight from happening, and 3) that they do not necessarily need to stop performing tests when a positive one is produced. If Floyd Mayweather is so clean and all about making more money then answer the following -

Speaking of cost, in their response to Hauser saying Provo/Matthysse cost $36k to do testing for, they suggest that this was just a 'legal retainer' that was 25-33% of the total cost. This means that the total cost for testing that fight was actually between $108-144k. And yet later in their response they say that adding a "$1.00 'integrity in sport fee' to a single pay-per-view fight" would be "able to fund... [a national, year-round] anti-doping program for years". lol, I'd love to see how that math works out.Comment

THIS.
It is truly mind-boggling, especially in this world we live in, for big names like Froid, USADA and NSAC to just allow Hauser to destroy their reputation just like that. The easiest way to settle this and to make sure Hauser stops speaking and writing about it is to sue Hausers ass. That's a no-brainer. That's what everyone does and that's what anyone would do. Hell, people sue people for sillier reasons than that just to get easy money from them. It would be easy money for Froid, USADA and NSAC. That's assuming of course Hausers information were all lies. But why don't they sue him? Add 2 and 2 together and anyone with a rational brain would know. But for Froid fans, 2+2 = 750mlLast edited by ganthet; 09-18-2015, 09:00 AM.Comment

Good post. Putting aside any questions of banned proceres for a moment, I find it strange that USADA felt no need to inform the NSAC about FM's "condition" (their word) which required medicl personel to administer an IV.
If he was dehydrated enough that he couldn't recover by drinking fluids over the next 24 hours than his condition was serious enough to at least notify the NSAC.Comment
