I have a weird feeling GGG's PPV does better then Floyd-Berto

GGG sold out the garden, made history with presale tickets and has never even fought in New York City nor the garden.

Everyone thought GGG needed a Cotto/Canelo win to become a legitimate star but I have a weird feeling GGG's first ppv against Lemieux will make him a star. If Floyd Berto did 550,000 ppvs on the higher end then I think GGG might do similar numbers for his first PPV.

You really need to do your research. GGG has already had THREE fights at the Garden. Rosado, Stevens and Geale.

That being said, it would not surprise me at all to see GGG get similar numbers to Floyd's recent fight. Golovkin is getting a lot of publicity and shares many fans with Ronda Rousey, who speaks about him in just about every interview, and her last PPV in Brazil did over 1 million buys.

If GGG exceeds 550k on his 1st PPV that would be incredible. I do not think it will reach that.

I think Cott/canelo will sell more.

Cotto/Martinez sold 21,000 tix for their fight at MSG, but only did 315k on ppv.
NEW YORK -- Sergio Martinez’s middleweight title defense against Miguel Cotto at Madison Square Garden generated between 300,000 and 315,000 pay-per-view buys,

One reason they had such a strong turnout was due the the Puerto Rican festivities but they loss out national coverage during the week to the potential Triple Crown at the Belmont Stakes and LA/NY NHL finals.

I'm feeling good that this does a little over 400k.

Well GGG is in October and there's another Rousey PPV in early December so people may pass over the Cotto - Canelo fight to save a few bucks. Especially if they add Ward to the undercard. After all... Ward is draw spelled backwards and that is the effect he usually has on a fight.

We have been jaded by Mayweather and Pacquiao PPV numbers over the years. Realize that they are the only two in boxing that could draw 1M buys. 550k is a lot of buys. Non maweather and pacman PPVs would consider this a success. and I don't think this GGG fight gets that. his name is not big enough yet
