Comments Thread For: Golovkin's Promoter: Ward Should Unify, Stop Obsessing!

Tom Loeffler, the managing director of K2 Promotions and the chief architect behind the ascension of Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin, was a bit miffed at the recent statements that were made by Andre Ward, who claims to have made a 50-50 offer to face Golovkin and criticized the WBA/WBO middleweight champion for turning him down.

lol u talked about him for 2 years while he said ggg dont want it and just not mention him and now that he says ok lets do it then u tell him to stop obsessing?

i still dont get why ggg fans wouldnt want to see this and yes we all want to see ward kovalev but why cant we have both? i just dont honestly get it. ward asked for so long just not to talk about him if u dont want the fight thats all he asked but abel just kept bringing him up none stop.

Also ggg been trying to get a mayweather fight for years im sorry i love watching ggg fight but im so tired of this new formula pretend everyone is scared then if anyone is favored to win pretend the fight makes no sense.

And im sorry but a ggg ward fight is basically the fight for number 1 p4p period. there is no better fight in boxing right now none not a single one. yes canelo ggg would be fun but its not a better fight. please stop giving ggg a pass on this fans cause i can promise u ward is going to fight kovalev its just a shame we cant have both fights instead this he said she said crap. i guess k2 is so worried about ward beating ggg and ending his image that the fight is impossible

Ward has no career and is horribly mismanaged by idiots

Andre Ward might have the worst advisers in boxing giving the dimwitted Ward terrible career advice which has cost Ward around $10 million so far by inept management and inactivity. Little g obvioulsy has a plan beat lemieux in a HBO PPV then challenge the Canelo-Cotto winner then unify the 160lb middleweight belts. Ward has no place in little g's career for the next few years. Typical Ward playing the moron again with his ****** advisers and clown management. kids like Ward are being misplayed and confused getting bad career advice costing them millions. Ward needs a white manager with a brain to help him. Good for little g having a career plan that is so solid and wise. See the difference in the two men?? it's so obvious what good management does for fighter with a future. little g going going gone.

Will be interesting to see what GGG does when one of the following three scenarios unfolds:

        1. Close fight between Cotto-Canelo warrants a rematch

        2. Winner ignores him and returns to 154

        3. Winner demands he fight them at 154-155 for a lopsided split, pillow gloves and a host of other advantages

all he will do is fight andy lee or call out a haymon fighter that he cant fight. basically anything other then taking ward serious even tho beating ward would do far more then any belt opponent anything. if ggg were to beat ward he would probably be considered the number 1 pound for pound fighter in the world

he would take the WBC belt the Cotto/Canelo winner vacated and fight the Lee/Saunders winner for the WBO, becoming the unified champ.

I guess. I'd like to see him take a risk. If not Ward, move up and fight Dirrell, DeGale, Jack, anyone. But Lee/Saunders, Quillins/Jacobs doesn't do it for me.

I suspect Cotto/Canelo are going to play him out. Canelo will wait as long as he pleases. If it's Cotto, he's going to squeeze him hard at the negotiating table and use him as a cash out bout. If they fight him at all.
