    Thurman vs Porter prediction/breakdown

With both guys confirming that they're in negotiation to make the fight for late November, I don't see how this one doesn't get finalised.

So how does everyone see the fight going? I'll try and break it down the best I can. For starters, I think the fight may disappoint in terms of action, Porter will try and get on the inside of Thurman and Thurman will be forced to use his feet, he can't fight in the pocket. He likes to load up on his punches and generate maximum power, to do that he obviously needs space and in the pocket, there is no space. He doesn't throw short punches and suffocates at close range.

The problem is though, although Porter is very strong on the inside, a lot of the work he does isn't clean. But he could still outwork Thurman in the pocket on activity alone. Anyway, I think he should start off trying to box with Keith, contrary to popular opinion, I think Porter is an underrated boxer, his jab is very sharp and effective when he uses it and doubles up on it, he's got good feet, fast hands etc. If he sees that he can't box with Keith, then maybe try roughing him up and outworking him as a plan B. Also it's a bonus for Porter that Thurman doesn't clinch, he will use his feet to keep the distance but Porter has quick feet himself so he can definitely keep up with Thurman.

I see this fight going the distance for sure, Porter has a solid chin and a good engine, he can go hard for 12 rounds. I think it'll be very close and competitive throughout and the winner will have to go through hell.

I might have to make one of those youtube videos and do a full breakdown when the fight is official

Everyone thinks Porter is this limited cavemen but I don't see it. I agree he can get wild when he's on the attack, but lets be honest, every aggressive fighter is like that. He needs to be disciplined in the ring, when he sticks to boxing he's very good, like I said his jab is very sharp and effective when he consistently uses it. He needs to develop his ring IQ and not get impatient so easily, kinda like Bradley.

Yep. We need to see all these young guns fight eachother now, lets see who separates himself from the others. Hope the winner of this one goes on to fight Danny or Maidana. Spence will be joining the party too probably sometime next year.

In the words of Floyd sr on Porter: I ain't seen that man throw a straight punch yet.

Thurman hurts him with uppercuts or straight rights. Broner hurt him and he's not a real welterweight. Thurman via ko. Probably gets another hematoma lol

I don't think Broner hurt him, it was a light knockdown, his legs and reaction was fine when he got up. Porter fought guys in the amateurs who are now light heavyweights and cruiserweights, he can take a punch man, the only way Thurman stops him is with a single shot, if he walks into something big. But I'm almost certain this one goes the distance.

No idea, just saw the rumour on twitter. Apparently it could be on Showtime which is weird considering how PBC have been building these guys up.

Thurman would have to keep his distance and catch Porter coming forward. If he's unable to do that then I could see Porter winning a very ugly/scrappy decision

I think it'll be close but Thurman's boxing is too good for Porter. Intangibles are in Thurman's favour, but I don't think he has the best chin or stamina - so he might make it tough.

But ultimately I think he'd win.
