Comments Thread For: Hearn Eyes Teper, David Haye Bouts For Anthony Joshua

ANTHONY JOSHUA hopes his quick work could see him get a shot at world heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko after two more wins.

The 25-year-old has steamrolled his way to 14 straight knockouts in the paid ranks since winning gold at the 2012 Olympics and turning professional a year later.

Scotsman Gary Cornish became Joshua's fifth first round victim when he was floored twice in a 97-second demolition for the Commonwealth title at the O2 Arena on Saturday.

Going down....lololololol.It doesn't "look" much really does it?And Teper will also fold if Joshua fights him. That's even if Teper accepts the fight. What is Joshua's height,6ft8-9? What does Joshua weigh,16/17 stone?

That may not look much but this heavyweight is athletic and rips through his punches when he throws them, not to mention the speed they are also coming at you. Not like your casual/modern day heavyweight who pittypats and comes in looking like he's just won the South Jersey all you can eat competition.

not sure with whyte his punches look too slow and he's going to get ko'd surely. When he throws the right hand he is over commiting, his inside hooks look slappy, he's number 15 for the ko roster surely. next.

Yeah. I've seen Whyte sparring a lot at Miguel's, he is very decent but nothing above that Danny Williams / Sprott / Skelton level at their peaks... I don't see him going past the 3rd round in with Joshua.

yeah its a debate whether he could even beat chisora? its easy to get ****** in when theyre beating literally part timers with no ambition. With aj though, I think his old problems will come back if he has to go past six rounds I can see him throwing those arm punches and his technique going.

Everyone's on his nuts and will be until he fights someone who can fight back. David Price was in practically the same position, everyone raving, until he fought someone decent. Fortunately for AJ there's not that many decent heavyweights but I can see the hype train coming of the rails long before he gets to Klitschko, if he's even still fighting by then.

Whether one deems Joshua's Olympic gold success to be controversial or otherwise, it cannot be argued that he's done everything that's been asked of him thus far as a pro, without any real case for criticism, I would have thought. He's 14-0-0(14) and as much as I'd like to see him in with a Teper, Thompson, Chagaev or someone of similar ilk, which would be the next logical step up, it's fair to say he's progressing at a reasonable rate. His Next foe is unbeaten Dillian Whyte, who mightn't look on the face of it as though he's the heir apparent in terms of the skill set he's exhibited thus far but he is unbeaten, he is ambitious and he does look as though he has some firepower, which might answer some questions about AJ's whiskers in the process. By direct comparison, in their 15th fights respectively, Vlad faced 4-13-1 Ladislav Husarik, Rid**** Bowe fought 6-9-1 Robert Colay and Lennox Lewis poleaxed 40 year old, former Beltholder Mike Weaver. Granted, there are more ingredients to the debate than whom fought whom at this stage of their careers but if we are to judge AJ fairly then surely this is as valid a point to raise as any other. If Deontay Wilder can defend his strap against the likes of Molina and Teper victim Duhaupas with in excess of 30 fights under his belt then AJ's resume is more than acceptable. It isn't AJ's fault either that Kevin Johnson didn't show the resistance he had versus Vitali, Fury, Chisora, Charr et al (perhaps something to do with AJ's venomous hitting and ability?) . I could say the same for a few other former opponents but there's no need as the point is clear. AJ's rise is more than satisfactory from my perspective.
