Floyd leaving is great for boxing

Not a hating thread, the fact is aside from producing over priced boring fights where he pokes his opponents to death, now fighters can not chase him for a big money fight and can fight each other. Not knocking any.fighter for trying to get that money cause I would too but now it will go back to where u have to fight your way to the top to make ur money instead of fighters standing in line for a lottery ticket to fight floyd. Floyd is.home now if we can get rid of catch weights, boxing will truly be back.

No it's not! ESPN and casual fans don't give a damn about boxing! Floyd have them a reason to pay attention.

Agreed with OP, but I think Floyd is gonna come out of retirement more than Jay Z...

Multimillion dollar paydays are too alluring for someone so narcissistic

Now's the time to impress and get that spotlight on you. Haymons stable better wise'n up because taking a gamble on a high risk low reward fight is what is gonna establish them as the next Kingpin.

Who are you going to swear your allegiance to now that Floyd is no longer an active boxer? Just fighters associated with Haymon in general?

I'm not a ****** from some irrelevant country with only one good athlete, nor do I have such a simple mind that I have to view promotional outfits like WWF wrestling... I don't have to "swear my allegiance" to anyone.

                  We'll see.

Last time Floyd retired, months after, UFC crushed boxing in revenue. I'll give boxing until after Canelo vs Cotto to get eaten up by UFC again like in 2008. If what you say is true, that Floyd puts people off boxing (With 2.4, 2.2, 4.4 million PPVs sold among others), we'll see how true that is. We have GGG vs Lemieux and Cotto vs Canelo to where Floyd left off. We also have a couple more Pacquiao fights left next year.

I think boxing just lost the guy that was keeping the UFC in its place, but you guys say otherwise so let's see if that's true. I think Ronda Rousey will crush boxing the next 2 years.

We''ll see how many people come back to watch boxing now that Floyd is gone, just like in the poor 2008 boxing had, where boxing was flooded with so many new fans that UFC ****d it.
