    Wladimir Klitschko now P4P 1

It's a great day, Floyd said he is retired and boxing can now expand but now that Floyd is retired he no longer is the P4P #1 that title belongs to Wladimir Klitschko and with Wladimir at near 40 he is actually doing what Mayweather never did and that is fighting the guys he should have from the start of his career all the way til now without making us the fans wait and without making a career out of excuses.

What a great day it is now boxing has an educated real ambassador to the sport who can actually read, write and count.

Really, people were dying to see him fight Pulev, Leapai, Jennings and clinch raping Povetkin, the best opponent he faced since 2011? Kudos for facing Fury but please, Wlad's level of opponents does not warrant him #1 P4P despite his long run. He's also a heavyweight, a gigantic heavyweight at that.

I don't believe Floyd is finished

If he is, Klitschko is not the best P4P

        It's Roman Gonzalez.

Yet fighting a string of plodders like Guerrero, Maidana, Berto, Ortiz, Alvarez, Hatton and then the past prime fighters and so on and so on does?
P4P ranking is clearly based on longevity and hype on names fought but there can be little to dispute the fact nobody right now belongs ahead of Wladimir besides Floyd.

Rigondeaux - Hasn't done enough in his career, great amateur fighter as was Wladimir but this is the pro ranks we're talking about and Rigo is still waiting in line to get Frampton, Quigg and someone else to maybe throw him a bone.
Ward - Inactive fighter who has had everything his own way never traveled, never went up in weight to go for better opposition

Those are the two who will be the main competition I suspect, If Rigo gets Frampton, Quigg and maybe Lomachenko on his resume then yes, Ward needs Kovalev.

I'm afraid we'll see Floyd back in the ring next spring

But yeah, Vladimir is obviously the best fighter on the planet.

He's dominant, yes, but that level of opposition is just really, really, really poor.

If you think Wlad is pound for pound the best then to you he is the best. Who is pound for pound the best is 100% personal opinion and zero percent provable fact. Many will disagree that Wlad is the best pound for pound and they will be just as right and just as wrong as you are. When it comes to who is the best PFP there is no right or wrong answer, only personal opinions.
