To be the "worst trainer ever", a guy's got to fail with a fighter in their care, at least once.

Who has Teddy Atlas failed with? honestly, no one.

Acknowledging that, you're simply a hater.

Poor Bradley. Now he has a trainer that's gonna try and steal the spotlight and give himself all the credit, while pretending to give his fighter credit. Teddy will probably bail on Bradley like he did with Povetkin because of his TV commentary duties. The fighter obviously doesn't come first with Teddy!!

Teddy Atlas helped refine Alexander Povetkin, without really using that "Cus D'Amato style", so it's unfair to pidgeon-hole him in that way. Teddy Atlas does a pretty good job of identifying what a fighter does well, identifying what a fighter's faults are, and then trying to shade the faults with strengths.

Roy Jones, a while ago, made a pretty poignant animal comparison, in describing Tim Bradley's natural style. He called him a "hyena"; sets a steady but agressive pace, isn't the most devastating guy, but he simply grinds folks down behind his pace.

I have faith that Teddy Atlas can kind of see what Roy talked about, and will design a gameplan to fit to that.

          Why though?

Is Atlas even a good trainer? Havent all of his good fighters gotten tire of him and left?

He was famous for sitting down on Moore's stool and nearly shooting Mike Tyson.
He was a bit crazy, but he was always effective as a trainer; you look at what he was able to get out of Michael Moore, out of Lalonde, out of Povetkin, etc. If you sat and looked through the history, you can't really point to a situation where Atlas decided to work with a fighter, couldn't find a way to be effective, and the fighter was worse off for having worked with Atlas.

Still, Tim Bradley's a bit nuts too, and his father is a similar hard man, so I honestly think that it'll work.

Tim Bradley is heading into the final stretch of his run and is merely "circling the wagons".

Him, his wife, his pops, and Teddy(if things mesh); with only the Alexander/Martinez telecast on ESPN, between now and the fight, Atlas can put Bradley through the paces of a full camp, having pops hold things down during the week where he has to work ESPN.

Idk why so many people hate on Atlas. Theres no reason to. The guy learned from Cus! Honestly! I think people have grown to dislike him from his commentating style and how he screams and makes odd, bizzare analogies that, don't really make a whole lot of sense. But the man knows boxing as well as anyone.

I think it was time for Timmy to change trainers, I never really rated Diaz (too much of a cheerleader IMO).

I think it could work out - but we wont see any real benefit for the Rios fight.

I agree. Bradley has been getting hurt in many matches though, but I see him being better everywhere. He has a great cardio, reflexes, better speed and technique

                      Rios has the chin though
