I agree, inasmuch that on terms of raw ability and motivation Whyte and Joshua are pretty much equal. You could even make a case that Whyte is a more 'natural' boxer where Joshua is a better 'athlete'.
The problem for Whyte is that Joshua has been marked for greatness by Matchroom and the UK media - he will get all the help he needs to win a HW title whereas guys like Whyte will have to do much, much more to even get close the opportunities lined up for Joshua.
I think Whyte has a decent amount of hype behind him tbf. Not as much as AJ, but he is rare case. The guy is marketing dream.
