Total truth there. I watched the fight, when Douglas came in in great shape I knew Tyson was in trouble. Buster was easily the best boxer at HW at the time but he was, lamentably, always out of shape. In fact, had he remained in shape he would have been an all time great. It just wasn't his nature, though. He was a favorite of mine before Tyson and remains the same.

Absolutely not.
But given the week Floyd is having amidst ped accusations, a loss to Berto would signify the greatest fall from grace in sports history..period.
Remember this guy made $300 million 4 months ago.
To go from that to being accused of juicing, people questioning all of your achievements and then losing to Berto, losing his precious undefeated 0...to Berto?!
Talk about the worst week ever.Comment

Sure it would be big, but I doubt it will happen! I lost money in 1990 on that fight. It hurt me emotionally back then, I loved iron mike. So I can understand how mayweather fans would feel if berto pulled off a miracle. Some experts are stating that if Andre Berto pulls out a victory on Saturday night, when he challenges Floyd Mayweather Jr. for the WBA/WBC welterweight titles at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas - it would rank as the biggest upset in boxing history.
One person disagrees with that viewpoint, and that man is former undisputed heavyweight champion James “Buster” Douglas — the man responsible for pulling off perhaps the greatest upset in boxing history when he knocked out Mike Tyson in 1990 to capture the title.

I know how PAC fans felt to see his lifeless body face down on the canvass. Shocking stuff!
I argued about the Tyson loss to everyone who would listen, talked about the long count buster got, etc!
But Tyson's mind was already being messed up by women, and his need for love. After that loss, he tore ass, and got caught up with mrs Washington.
Floyd had a better legal team than Tyson dd, short sentence!Comment

If anything that was the timekeeper's mistake. For the record I counted 10, but either way, Buster was/is/will always be the man with that fight. I have friends still pizzed at me about that, like it was my fault Tyson was owned by Douglas. HA
Maybe a bit of luck, but really the guy worked his butt off, fought smart, outworked Tyson every round, gave the best performance of his life... although he had just overwhelmed Greg Page maybe a year or two before at the Omni in Atlanta. I was there. Buster embarrassed Page.
Why don't you just get a moniker made up of you getting pizzed at any and everyone who brings up this fight? Geez. You're even reinventing the word bitter. Let it the fek go.
Couldn't happen to a more qualified candidate.Absolutely not.
