Comments Thread For: Andre Berto - The Harvest Is Coming

By Jake Donovan - It was billed as the grand arrivals for all of the Showtime Pay-Per-View participants for this weekend’s show at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Still, the throng of media and fans (and fans posing as media) on hand for Tuesday’s session were there to witness Floyd Mayweather stroll through the doors to kick off Fight week for what he insists will be the last ever bout of his Hall of Fame career.

If it’s any consolation to Andre Berto, he’s not the only longshot in town this weekend. There are many who believe Mayweather has as much chance of sticking to retirement plans as Berto does of winning on Saturday night. In fact, more attention has been paid to whether or not fight number 49 for Mayweather will in fact be in, than to the matchup itself.

Don’t expect Berto to get too upset over that. It can even be argued that he has everyone right where he wants them—that’s assuming he really cares what anyone thinks at this point. [Click Here To Read More]

We are less than a week away, and I still keep thinking that Mayweather is going to say he was just kidding about facing Andre Berto and announce his real opponent. This fight is the same as Klitschko facing Briggs, without the entertainment factor. Mayweather is about to find out that reaching (and surpassing) 49 and 0 is easy, its staying retired that is the real challenge.

What a trash title, I won't read a word beyond it!

Harvest of what? they tried to hand him a Mayweather's fight year after year after year, and everytime he miserably failed, he was even nicknamed "the gate keeper", then after all picked him with no valid reasoning.

That tells everything about boxing and its American superstar of today!

You know what are you doing here? you are fighting a loser to Ortiz who lost to Maidana who lost to Khan. the bottom of barrel literally!

Berto is a joke and average and a loser

Some great fighters have moved up in weight to challenge the bigger man. Billy Conn-Henry Amrstrong-Sugar Rays-Robinson and Leonard-Duran-Hearns-Roy Jones-Hopkins- Holyfield. Little Floyd just might not be big enough as the tiny felon isn't big in stature or heart. Face it Floyd is small child fighting small walking small respected not. Floyd is just a shrimp a dwarf a midget disrespectful and hated everywhere. Think Tupac for Floyd.

Berto is positive, confident and optimistic about his ability to do well in this fight. People are writing him off as the worst opponent for Mayweather. However, we might all be surprised to see that he may give us the most entertaining fight against Mayweather in years.

Given how bloated he looks, he must've already ate the harvest.

I read he and 50 cent had a tussel, and Floyd was ragamuffined by fitty! Siz-ize matters, and people can't expect Floyd to keep fighting bigger and bigger guys until he loses. I think that is what the haters want. A very unfair expectation. GGG should fight wilder?

Floyd has fought at Junior Middleweight before which is the weight Golovkin is willing to fight him at. GGG moving up to Heavyweight is ridiculous and impossible. Floyd can make 154, he just doesn't want to. There's a big difference.

tupac is beloved, intellectual, and took on the entire east coast.

floyd's best win is either diego corrales or a chin cracked past prime injured pacquiao and he's about to fake retire for the second time because welter is the deepest and best division in boxing again (similar to his fake retirement after beating career 140 pounder hatton at 147).

                    floyd is also illiterate.

                    complete opposite of pac.
