I wouldn't mind that. Povetkin could get a Wlad rematch and hopefully this time without the cheating.

I've also said povetkin/wlad fury. How is fighting the wlad fury winner worse than fighting povetkin. Like the first post said unifications come before mando if they want it

Before the Jennings fight, Vlad signed a 3 fight deal with hbo.

povetkin was also hurt repeatedly with punches and dropped more than once. not sure a stricter ref would have made a difference in the outcome. wlad would probably have a better chance of stopping him if he was forced to punch instead of hold. he just seemed to strong for povetkin. he hurt him every time he touched him it seemed

i'm fine with povetkin or klitschko (or fury if he pulls off the upset). however, i somehow expect wilder to have at least one all-american title fight before he is risked against those guys. arreola, thompson, tarver, someone like that.

Povetkin deserves another title shot if anybody does. He has one of the best resumes too among the current heavies.

You can pretend a guy being clinched 200 times didn't make a difference, the rest of us are in the real world where a Povetkin not being cheated could possibly crush Wlad's paper chin.

"Wilder won't need to fight his No.1 WBC mandatory challenger Alexander Povetkin first at the start of 2016 for him to get the Klitschko fight. Wilder can bypass the Povetkin fight and take on Klitschko without the formality of whipping Povetkin first. That's great for Wilder, because he won't have to wait until the second half of 2016 in order to get a fight against Klitschko."

                    Damn, that's messed up.

Dude's been fighting everyone in the heavyweight division for 10 years.

In all those years he only got one title fight, and he got hugged to death.
Povetkin fought a list of bums before getting the Wlad fight, is a disease Chagaev, ancient Byrd, CHambers, Rahman somehow fighting everybody? Heck, his biggest step up was against Huck and he arguably lost.

Since looking like a ***** against Wlad, he has fought slightly better opponents but again, Takam, Charr and Perez aren't exactly killers. Wilder's single best win over Stiverne is better than most of Povetkin's resume. Plus his new added power stinks of something odd.

I'd rather Wilder fight Wlad/Fury for the real heavyweight championship.

Povetkin is good but he pussied out of his biggest chance yet.

That's how it's always been. If Wlad knocks on Wilder's door, then Sasha has to wait. Don't feel bad for Sasha. He had his brief "title reign" and he had a chance to be the undisputed HW champion of the world. He just wasn't up to the task. Time for someone else to give it a shot..
