Comments Thread For: Erik Morales: Cotto is Very Winnable Fight For Canelo

Former four division world champion Erik Morales says the time is right for his countryman, Mexican superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (45-1-1, 32 KOs), to challenge WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto (40-4, 33 KOs) of Puerto Rico.

The fight is scheduled to take place on November 21st from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.

This is the second time where Canelo is the headliner in a major pay-per-view event. He's topped a few smaller pay-per-views, but in September 2013 he stepped in the ring with the pound-for-pound king of boxing, Floyd Mayweather Jr. Canelo was dominated by the undefeated boxer.

I agreed on Canelo challenging Floyd early in his career but he has no chance against Floyd anyways. Canelo still a B class fighter due to the lack of aggressiveness, speed, and movements in the ring. He defeated Trout and Kirkland however he had a draw against Lara due to the lack of speed, aggressiveness, and movements in the ring.

Unless Cotto stands and trade with Canelo Cotto should win this fairly easy ..Better foot work and better defense

I agree with most of your statement but #WarCotto's face still gets swollen easily due to the crushed tissue under his skin and that has will never be the same. Outside of that, he has taken little punishment and as he stated, his body has recovered.

              I got #KingCotto by stoppage under 10rds!

Fix your paragraph 5. Cotto lost to May and Trout, not Canelo.

                  Canelo a B class? LOL

Poor Cotto, Canelo is going to murderer him with a very sharp K.O.

                  Remember this.

it doesnt matter, a prime version of cotto is not enough to beat canelo at 155...
