Junior welterweight Jonathan Navarro dropped Gibran Gutierrez three times in route to a four round unanimous decision. Navarro (2-0, 1 KO) dropped Gutierrez twice in the first round. Gutierrez, who was making his pro debut, hung in there during the middle rounds, but was dropped again late in the final round, courtesy of a right hand from Navarro. Gutierrez was able to beat the count and make it out of the round. All three judges scored the bout 40-33 in favor of Navarro.

I was impressed by Diego he won this fight easily and this was a big step up. Ruiz made Leo Santa Cruz work for his win earlier this year. And to be so young Diego kept really calm and composed after the nasty head butt.

Diego keeps looking better and better after every fight. I'm very impressed.

It looks like Mexico has found themselves their next good, potentially great, trio in DDLH, Oscar Valdez and Rey Vargas.

Other than DDLH the other prospects didn't look so good. Everton disappointed, was hoping he'll be the good in order to rise Brazilian boxing.

Until these pretenders fight each other and prove who is a contender, I'm not one damn bit impressed. Joseph Diaz Jr., Diego De La Hoya, and Julian Ramirez have no problem fighting each other's opponents, ANYTHING but each other. Tonight was nothing but a setup yet some people are so damn gullible to not see through this crap. De La Hoya fought a guy who couldn't punch his way out of a wet paper bag. Can anyone be THAT ****** to think Ruiz stood a chance or anywhere near a 50/50 threat? That's why Showtime shows 15-0 guys fighting 19-1 fighters and 18-0 fighters, because THE FIGHTERS and THEIR TEAMS are willing to take a RISK and put their records on the line in equal matchups! *** these endless Golden Boy setup cards where the script was already written before the start of the fight!

Don't even kid yourself. He has over 250 Amateur fights and the guy he fought was not a 50/50 fight which is EXACTLY my point about ShowBox fighters and their management willing to take risks and fight in tons of 50/50 fights. All Goldenboy shows have been reduced to is predictable setups. When someone can 100% predict the outcome of at least fifty Goldenboy main events, something is ***ing wrong! At least Haymon cards have far more evenly matched fighters and surprising outcomes. Goldenboy cards are nothing but a farce.

Diego turned 21 years old a few days ago, turned pro less then 2 years ago and just fought the same guy Leo Santa Cruz just fought a few months ago. He fought a solid fighter and that's more then you can say for most prospects older then him or with double the pro fights. Why anyone would have a beef with this kid and his opponent is beyond me. You got haymon fighters like wilder pushing 30 and still fighting bums. Guys approaching 30 pro fights and still fighting bums. But you choose to target this young kid who a few days ago couldn't buy a beer.
