AIBA (amateur boxing) is trying to govern pro boxing and spain is one of their early expeditions

Sergio who is now in the promotion business doesn't want to be governed by them

i'd have to hear a lot more to take a side, it's not like pro boxing could be run any worse than it already is where rich fighters have a completely different set of rules and deadlines and you can pay your way to 80-0

F#ck Sergio. AIBA is trying to shake up the status quo in boxing which needs a shake up. This is just like the GBP/TR lawsuit against PBC/Haymon. The status quo is ****ting their pants at these powerful en****** who have a game plan that extends beyond the "next big fight". Hope Sergio goes broke pursuing this.

Kinda hoping AIBA/APB & PBC join forces somehow, someway. Maybe even get that Russian billionaire on board. Boxing badly needs a centralized entity controlling the sport like pretty much every sport has to become a more mainstream less niche sport.

You kidding me? Aiba is as corrupt if not more corrupt than any of the sanctioning bodies.

There level of corrupting is so great, that there was talks of suspending boxing from the olympics until Aiba get its **** sorted out, or a new international governing body takes over.

Azerbaijan pays for olympic medals by investing in Aiba's WSB semipro thing, all the sudden, Aiba moves the World Championships which is an olympic qualifier tourney from South Korea, to Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan... Not su****ious at all. An Azerbaijani referee, had to be expelled from the olympics, and a decision overturned due to blatantly corrupt officiating.

This is the same organization that asked that the US olympic broadcast team, not be allowed to broadcast from ringside anymore, after they started to call out the corruption in bouts...

Thats exactly what we need in boxing isnt it.

Nope not kidding. I'm pro anyone new who's looking like they could create a centralized power structure in boxing. Namely thats PBC & APB/AIBA right now. I'm even a bigger fan of BKB than the Alphabet groups although BKB is more a new angle on boxing than something that could lead to a centralized power structure.

Talking about corruption in boxing is like talking about a hooker with a STD. Doesn't really shake my confidence at all in anything at this point. Boxing is a cesspool of corruption. Its almost a prerequisite to getting involved in the sport & the upside of a centralized group heading boxing has too many upsides from my POV. Thats how badly boxing needs a shakeup at the top.

Yeah well it sure as he!! won't do any good having AIBA in there calling the shots. That's like switching from one mafia family to a different one. Same shiii, just more of it and more restrictive. I'm all for fixing all sports to make them all an even playing field, but AIBA is definitely NOT the way to go.

AIBA is a disgrace for amateur boxing... and its "pro boxing" branch is nothing but a corrupt bureaucratic irrelevant "competition"...
