Former world champion Shannon Briggs is still adamant he can force a bout with heavyweight king Wladimir Klitschko.

The 43-year-old Briggs (58-6-1-KO51) faces Michael Marrone in Florida on Saturday night and with the night billed as a heavyweight tribute event, stars such as Klitschko, Evander Holyfield, MikeTyson, Tony Tubbs and Tony Tucker are expected to attend

Now that I think of it, I'm surprised Tyson Fury isn't doing much talking. Briggs is staying more relevant than Klitschko's next opponent.

Briggs will be lucky to get that shot.

Glazkov is the IBF mandatory and Wlad hasn't defended his IBF against a mandatory challenger for a year, and there's a potential Wilder unification on the table.

No upset would ever be bigger than Douglas vs Tyson. Even this. If he could win and if he ever get the shot, he is a shot fighter.

Well it would be the biggest upset in history which is why it's not a particularly exciting match to make. He already looked horrible against Vitali, who wants to see this? Dude is creating a buzz I'll give him that. He is an entertaining character but, why should we entertain this match unless he actually beats a rated opponent?

lol whatever, in the meantime it's been amusing to see him troll the **** out of Wlad. It's over the top, but funny.

Maybe reality has set in for Fury.

Man, after that beating he took from Vitali 5 years ago, this would probably be even more ugly for Briggs. Klitschko said, "Win your fight tomorrow then we'll talk" just to get Briggs to leave lol, so you know Briggs probably took that seriously. Now we'll hear about that for the next 12 months. Since getting walloped by Vitali 5 years ago, the fighters' rankings of the past 7 fights Briggs has fought have been 205, non-ranked, 382, 83, 480 (wtf), 107, and now 267. These are his opponents world rankings. Why are we still having this "Briggs deserves a shot" conversation again? If you don't like the opponents Mayweather chooses, yet want to see this fight, you're what's wrong with boxing.

Fury has been talking all sorts on twitter, boxingscene just not reporting much of it.

It won't be the biggest but it would be an upset with huge odds. On that note then he should not be getting a shot without beating anybody of note. No reason that he just should just walk in there and get a shot. His whole career has been a let down
