His fans do not love the sport of boxing, they are in love with Floyd. They admire his public persona and fantasize about being part of it.

In other words they're casual fans, not all but a large majority of them like to masquerade under the false pretense that they care about the sport just because they root for Floyd.
I think personally those fans try too hard and you can see right through the disguise, its like a football fan saying If you don't appreciate a defensive game or a boring 0-0 game you're a casual this is essentially what the Floyd fans are.

They also like to pretend that Floyd gets criticised just for being Floyd as if true great fighters got criticised just for being who they are. I think that anyone that has a true neutral opinion of Floyd with even a remote understanding of the sport can tell the difference between defence and dirty tactics.

I honestly would not care the least bit if Floyd was just a boring old defensive fighter like Rigondeaux, I just would not watch his fights and would have no opinion on him other than he's boring to watch. But that's not the case with Floyd cause what his fans call a master art of defensive and offensive skills are truly just a display of dirty tactics being allowed by corrupt officials.

Floyd gets all this praise by media and is allowed to get away with so much trash only because there is money to be made out of it. His entire career is a staged act put together by managers, promoters and television networks who all stood to make a profit if they allowed certain things. Such as keping him undefeated, allowing him special benefits, having him be a total **** bag on tv and much more.

All I'm saying is that it's not for no reason that most people don't like him and that he gets desservedly criticised.

Really man? Floyd is what 38? And has been kinda dirty in 2/3 fights? Isn't that what people praise B-hop for? Adjusting as he ages?

Floyd is a master of defence but his reflexes are of course slowing these days...His last great display was against Marquez who he made look silly at times... I will agree he can be annoying as **** on camera and those soundbits he does rather than answering questions drive me crazy..

Where as I find Broner a funny albeit annoying character and lacking as a fighter I find Floyd just plain weird like he doesn't know how to act normal, so his interviews and jokes he makes with his "friends" come off as weird and pushed...

But I disagree and Floyd is definitely singled out from the rest. People don't call Manny out on his drinking/whoring/******** ...His illegitimate children and bull**** excuses about socks and cramps..

Leonard wasn't shredded for his ******* use...Duran for his supposed animal cruelty (laughed at this one) People actually talk about Tyson in a good light like he didn't bite someones ear off. There's a guy on here who's name is Valero like come on!!!
