Comments Thread For: Floyd Sr: No Reason To Even Discuss Pacquiao Rematch

Floyd Mayweather Sr., father and trainer of WBC/WBA welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (48-0, 26KOs), says his son is still fully capable of continuing his career at the top level.

On September 12th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Mayweather will make what he says is the final ring appearance of his professional career when he takes on former two-time world champion Andre Berto.

I'd say you have about 2-300 million reasons to consider a rematch.

Personally I think there will be a rematch. Manny should beat Khan and get the Mayweather rematch. Too much money involved to not do it again

Manny will need more than two good shoulders to win!

        Ring cut off skills!
And more than a one dimensional approach to a fight. He needs a plan B, C & D!

        Old dog new tricks!

sorry it's just a bad style match up. Pac could never beat Floyd. Need a different opponent to pose any threat to Floyd

Thank you! I agree! PAC lacks what it would take to beat Floyd!

But first reason would be to try and give the public moneys worth. Not neccesarily going toe to toe, but Floyd must know how to give moneys worth somehow. Hes supposed to be so good isnt he, so figuring out how to give moneys worth shouldnt be that hard.

How? He beat PAC easily. The money's worth concept is great. Manny should learn how to cut off the ring, and add plan B, C, & D. Just in case his jump forward style is stifled by defense and movement.

PAC failed to cut off the ring, failed to make it a war. Why does Floyd have to change a style that works for him?

PAC tried to make it a fight.

                    I offer this example.

In WW2, the German army was steadily moving forward. The Russian army pulled back and burned all food, poisoned water, but pulled back. They burned their own cities, so when the German's got there, nothing to conquer. They pot shot the German army all along the way. This scorched earth approach to war broke the German army. Then when the Russian winter kicked in, the German army was not prepared.

The analogy to Floyd v PAC, why should Floyd fight any differently if they ever have a rematch???

PAC needs to fight differently. He needs to find a way to trap Floyd and use his speed and punching power. But both his shoulders might have undisclosed injuries next time!!'
