Not a bad fight actually and it should show a lot about how well Brook adjusts to different styles. Chaves isn't a tin can like Brook's last few opponents and his approach is different from Porter's. Two contrasting styles from guys who are around the same skill level and the best boxers that Brook has faced thus far.
Chavez will put up a better fight than Shawn Porter did that's for sure.
This one's going to be good.
there was no fight because one guy was holding. or maybe you could say there was a fight but only on one guys terms. anyway brook learned from the carson jones beat down that holding=good trying to defeat an opponent the old fashioned way of using movement and defense is just a chore.
Wasn't Chaves winning that fight?...also while I thought he lost he gave Bradley lots of problems and all he could handle and was going in on Thurman until he adjusted. This might be Brooks best test to date as Chaves is so awkward.
That's what made it frustrating - I can't say I really trust him to stay focused all the time but he does have some skills. Actually he might need some of the awkward dirty techniques against Brook if he hurts him and he tries to hold . It's an alright fight -I want to see Brook in with some name opponents, if not champs, at least relevant measuring sticks, and Chaves fits that bill so I'll take it.
Considering the difficulty in getn 2 top 10 WWs to agree to face each other, this is actually a nice WW match up. .who knows, maybe in a yr or 2 Brook will actually do it again(face top10 guy)
