Gennady Golovkin-Grzegorz Proksa 3 years ago

Gennady Golovkin made his US debut 3 years ago vs. Grzegorz Proksa.

Gennady Golovkin did exactly what he hoped to Saturday in Verno, N.Y.: break down Grzegorz Proksa and excite a U.S. audience in his stateside debut. His next challenge? Getting other 160-pound studs to step to him.

With a win over LeMule that will be GGG's 15th defense of his middleweight title. With a win we have to start considering him one of the middleweight GOAT's. GGG is a real hitta.

    GGG-Cotto? GGG-Lee/Saunders? GGG-Canelo? GGG-Spike O'Sullivan?

The future just keeps getting brighter for Gennady.

I had followed Golovkin for a longwhile and i could never have imagined he would become one of HBo's posterboys. Him and Kovalev somehow benefited from the HBO/Showtime feud.

It's hard to consider his defending a title belt he didn't win in the ring (not the lineal title like other great MW's) that big a deal.

Such low hanging fruit for fans to grab onto.

Correction. He only has 4 defenses of his middleweight title.

Great thread. Gennady's is truly doing great things, well on his way to establish records at the Middleweight division.

Knocking out Stevens, Murray and Geale dosen't really qualify you for ATG status but hopefully he can get some big wins next year...

Take the hate somewhere else. We're talking about a star in Gennady Golovkin. A kid from the mean streets of Kazakhstan. He has dynamite in his fist and steel in his jaw. Plus that jab...The way he cuts the ring off says "You can run but you can't hide mother****er!"

The man is damn near unbeatable.
