Comments Thread For: Team Provodnikov: Top Rank Want No Part of Ruslan

When BoxingScene.com last reached out to Ruslan Provodnikov’s (24-4, 17 KO’s) manager, Vadim Kornilov on news of a possible Brandon Rios-Ruslan Provodnikov bout, the manager said there was nothing to report.

BoxingScene recently reported that Brandon Rios (33-2-1, 24 KO’s) would likely return on a November 7th HBO date with Vasyl Lomachenko slated as the co-feature. In terms of Rios’ opponent, it doesn’t look like Provodnikov is in the lead to land the fight according to his manager.

I thought Prov was TR too? He should go over to PBC if he's a free agent now. Lets make Prov Broner's first defense (assuming he wins his next fight). That should be fun.

Prov vs Garcia. Prov vs Thurman. Prov vs Maidana. Theres some fun fights for him over there.

No, he's always been with Pellulo. Top Rank had an option (or maybe 2) after the Bradley fight, but that was it........

Provodnikov was never a TR fighter and Rios for all his talk wants way too much money. He was in discussions to fight Brooks, he ain't going to engage in a war with Provodnikov for less money. I know ****** but this is what happens when guys get their beaks wet with million dollar paydays even if they don't deserve them.

Yup... Bradley came out the "winner" thanks to the ref. No doubt about it. We all know that.

Arum is slipping cuz seems like you'd want Prov on your roster for more than a couple fights. Obviously the reason he's not getting a fight is cuz he's not with Arum. If he was with Arum he'd have a fight lined up already.

And herein lies one of the problems with promoters, who have far too much power in boxing. Any promoter would seemingly love to have Prov on their card cuz he brings with him the potential of a fight being a FOTY, but cuz the downside of having Prov potentially beat your guy & lower his value in the business & you being left out of the upside of Prov if he beat your guy, Prov doesn't get to fight a TR opponent & TR doesn't get to make a more fun fight.
