If he fought Rios on HBO he could've easily made around 500 K. I say this cuz Khan in his first American defense vs Paulie made 900 K or somewhere around that. It wasn't a million, but very close. Kell's highest payday that has been known to public or at least the one I could find is 200 K vs Porter.

Since, the ice has been broken, if his idol could travel for most of his World level career then why can't he? At this point Khan at 24 was main event in Las Vegas defending his WBA World title against Maidana. Levels.

I noticed LacedUp pulling overtime on YouTube.
Who knows what he made against Gavin - It was a routine defense anyway. If he was to go over to the US and fight someone like Algieri on Spike - Do you think he would make more or less than against Gavin on PPV?

Well Brook's main income comes from PPV on Sky - So it would be incredibly ****** to go over to the US and fight on regular HBO for less than that, which he absolutely would.

The demand for Khan in the US is completely different from Brook, so there's nothing to compare. HBO wanted Khan to fight on their network. If HBO really wanted to fork in their pockets, then they would and then he'd obviously go. But they won't, so he won't.

The 200k vs Porter was without Sky money - Regardless, it's clear his future is on Sky PPV, not on HBO or somewhere else. If someone wants to get it, they can - in the UK. If they want to pay him big bucks to go over there, he obviously will.

dfuq are you talking about youtube?

Statement would be knocking him out a couple rounds before Thurman did. Don't see that happening.

Huh? I thought it was going to be Van Heerden?

Now you Khan groupies are hating on Chaves - a decent opponent from what was available

        Jokers.

There's a huge double standard when it comes to US and European fighters. The US is clearly the home of World boxing, it's where the biggest broadcast audience is and selling tickets is far easier, you can make a decent gate and a wide number of venues across the country, all with their own little niches and support bases. However, that doesn't mean fighting outside of the US, especially in Europe, is a disaster. The European market is huge for the right fight, ticket sales are massively impressive (the use of stadiums equally so).

Certain fighters will have leverage if they're of a certain ability or hold value (i.e. a World title). Brook has that, and he earned it beating up a top level competitor in Shawn Porter in his home country. Now, nobody has to, but if someone wants a freely available World title to compete for, they should take that risk and come and get it. The sense of entitlement from US based fighters is a worrying trend, everything is now automatically deems themselves unmovable in negotiations e.g. Wilder telling Klitschko of all people their fight has to be in the US.

Take the risk. People complain about 'ducking' and guys being scared to go up in weight for fear of losing an advantage, no one will do the same for fighters scared of travelling in a worldwide sport. Malignaggi went to the Ukraine, it massively paid off. Hopkins, a beacon of light at god damn 50, is gonna go to Germany and push for greatness.
Im not a Kell Brook fan, but this is by far the best post in this thread!
