A case can be made that Mayweather was more past his best than Pacquiao was. Going into the fight Pacquiao was coming off much better performances than Mayweather. Compare Mayweathers reflexes and speed in 09 to today and you can see he has declined significantly.

Yeah and that's the point I've tried making. People always wanna bring up Floyd fighting scared against a one handed fighter and running. Yet pacquiao couldn't catch and corner a scared, older, past his prime version of mayweather. Even old past his prime mosley hurt floyd worse then Pacquiao. Cotto also gave Floyd a tougher fight. Everybody wants to blame the shoulder because its a convenient excuse for Pac's performance. If Pac's shoulder was healthy and he still loss then another excuse would have been made. Everybody knows but don't want to admit that the fight would have gone the same way regardless.

I think Pac and Roach thought Floyd was just like any other fighter they faced but found out differently in the first round. It was the first time that pac had stepped in the ring with someone that he didn't have a huge advantage against in speed. Plus he had never been in the ring with someone as defensive and sharp as Floyd either. Floyd just did what he does to every opponent, which is take them out their game. No one looks as good as they did in their previous fights when they step in the ring with Floyd. Pac was no exception.

yeah Floyd is so superior to Manny that's why he ran like a biotch for 12 rounds scared to even engage a seriously injured Pac. When your own father/trainer calls you a coward for fighting scared that's pretty bad I'd say. Floyd sr knew Floyd was in danger of losing that fight but Tinker knew he had the judges in his pocket
