INGLEWOOD, Calif. -- Sugar Shane Mosley stopped Ricardo Mayorga late in the sixth round Saturday night, winning a rematch between the veteran former champions.

The 43-year-old Mosley (48-9-1, 40 KOs) floored Mayorga with a body shot at 2:59 of the sixth round after largely controlling an uneventful bout at the historic Forum.

The 41-year-old Mayorga (31-9-1) was in unimpressive shape and did little to threaten Mosley, the former three-division champion who had won just one of his previous six fights.

Pretty entertaining bout and strange that Mosley stopped Mayorga at 2:59 of the 12th round in the 1st fight (1 sec before the end) , and 2:59 of the 6th round in the second fight (1 sec before half way point).

Ironic huh? Almost trying to insinuate a possible improvement in Mosley... I personally didn't see anything to say Mosley can come back. The KO looked very su****ious in my eyes.. Just my opinion. Mosley needs to focus on training his son, during his next 6 months off(I believe 6 month suspension) and realize it's time to pass the torch!

Mayorga has been out of serious competition for years. I'm sure he trained; heprobably looked WAY worse coming into camp.

You guys need to chill with implying that the fight might have been staged. Zero perfect chance. Mayorga was trying to bait Mosley early and was throwing some serious KO punches. A few of them landed on the chin and there was nothing pulled off of them. You don't throw punches like that at a 41 year old man when you're supposed to be taking a dive.

Yes, Mayorga looked like ****, but he came to fight.
