I had it 7-5. Hopefully there's a rematch.

There were a few close rounds, anything from 7-5 to 9-3 for Cruz could be argued. 6-6 is too generous imho, even though I was hoping for Mares to win.

But it was a fun scrap. A rematch could be good, but Mares will need to approach the fight differently to win it. His corner seemed very split about how he should fight.

Problem is, it was one of those close fights where you're either scoring the power or volume. Fights like that can easily result in one guy winning by a landslide, even if it was razor close. Judges aren't supposed to give out rounds to be "fair" just because it looks close.

It was an action fight but not a close fight...

At best giving mares every benefit of the doubt and swing rounds, mares won maybe 5 rds, but more realistically he won 3 or 4..

I had it 116-112 Santa cruz,, mares won rds 1,4,11,12

117-111 was the proper score in my eyes. Leo dominated the fight.

I watched on a ****ty stream at my buddies and we weren't paying full attention but i thought it was closer to a draw, other scores along with Teddys were too wide

I hardly gave Mares any rounds. How a professional fight judge could give Mares 6 rounds is hard for me to understand. Mares says he won but I think he knows he lost. Nothing he tried worked and he spent much of the fight holding on or back peddling. Leo is better in every way.

I thought Leo not only landed more punches but he landed the harder punches and hurt Mares while never being hurt himself. Punch count had him landing twice as many punches and that's what it looked like to me. He is a much more accurate puncher.
