What's it like to fight Marcos Maidana?
Not particularly hard if I say so myself. I just jabbed him, kept out of range, clinched when necessary, avoided his bombs and slowly broke him down to the body. Pretty easy guy to fight to be honest. Don't know why Floyd, Broner, Ortiz, Khan and those kind of guys had any trouble with him. Easy work people. Easy work.Comment

It had to be that body shot. I reckon that took four rounds out of Maidana and saved Khan. Certainly the first three rounds were basically Maidana trying to recover from it.
Haven't seen it in ages but I seem to remember it being around the 5th and 6th that he seemed to get his wind and snap back and then Khan was just being beaten up in many rounds from that point on.
Amazing body shot that I think completely saved him that fight. Without it, it's either a Maidana TKO or KO round the 9th or 10th.Comment

His conditioning saved him during that fight as he was still working with Ariza during that time and he just managed to survive that last few rounds. I'm pretty sure he would've been stopped had it gone another or couple more rounds..
Interestingly I've seen an interview which Maidana said that Khan punches hurts alittle..Comment

Everyone Maidana fought said he's the hardest puncher they have faced. Floyd fights him with safety gloves and has the audacity to say Maidana can't punch and he never felt his punches. Then in the rematch he almost gets KO'd. Keep on truckin Floyd fanboy.Comment
