Comments Thread For: Ellerbe Doubts Mayweather Will Consider Fighting Again

WBC/WBA welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (48-0, 26KOs) is about two weeks away from what is being promoted as the final fight of his pro career. Mayweather will defend his titles against former WBC/IBF champion Andre Berto on September 12th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

The CEO of his promotional company, Leonard Ellerbe, believes Mayweather will stick to his guns and remain retired beyond the September date.

What did we expect Ellerbr to say really?.. Yes he's gonna go for #50 but it's a secret.. Come on now..

All my points says Floyd goes for #50 next year.. This is just another ploy to con people and his fans to buy this garbage Bertoids fight!

Floyd will fight again in a year or so. Either a rematch with Pac or a rematch with Cotto.

The public is so easy to fool if Pac comes back and knocks out a Khan or Garcia then they will be calling for a rematch

Cotto is the least likely scenerup since he would have to beat Canelo and either force GGG to step aside again, or beat him.

Yes, Floyd have a nice break you deserved it after being a good boy fighting regularly. Then come back for Pac for the 50th fight, thank you.

Dont worry, people wont be angry at you for saying you will retire and going back on your word. People would love to see you for the 50th. Thank you in advance Floyd.

He will when he's broke. Well see in the future what is more important. Money or his legacy

I thought it was set in stone? Now he "doubts" Floyd will fight again, smh. This POS is just lying to the fans, HIS LOYAL FANS, in order to rob them of their hard earned money for this farce of a PPV. He's going to be back in the ring May of 2016 charging another $79.99 to see Floyd spar some no-hoper.
