Comments Thread For: Andy Lee: My World Class KO Power Will Be The Key

Andy Lee says travelling Irish support will make his world title defence against Billy Joe Saunders feel like boxing at home.

The WBO middleweight champion was scheduled to face the unbeaten Englishman in Limerick only to suffer a virus and see the bout moved to October 10 in Manchester.

But Lee (34-2-1-KO24) has revealed tickets are in hot demand back home and is enthusiastic over the prospect of rewarding his loyal supporters with victory at the Manchester Arena.

Its called Irish Thunder. Andy Lee and Canelo both possess it in their fists.

I'm worried for Andy winning this fight. If it's close, Warren is getting that title.

I'm not too sure Saunders is a better fighter than Korobov or Quillin, but he is well disciplined which will go along way here. When Eubank Jr was throwing nothing but power shots he still kept his composure and stayed tidy and on his toes rather than trying to load up and catch Jr. with any big single shots. He should do well against Lee who looked bad against Jackson and Korobov until catching them while they were on the offensive.

I've always liked Andy Lee and both fights with Jackson and Korabov he was losing until that nasty right hook. We all know if Saunders wins he'll hold onto it and avoid Golovkin. If Andy Lee wins he'll take a payday and fight Golovkin on HBO (non-PPV).

Idk. If Saunders wins, yeah he and Frank will look to milk that title and build him into a star, which is truly a good thing for Golovkin. But if Saunders is facing a legit challenge, say Magomedov in a year = high risk/low reward, I think we'll see them jump for a Golovkin fight.

Lee can't fall in love with that left hook. When DSG fell in love with his good boxers like Herrera learnt to take it away and the same will happen to Lee. He needs to use his height advantage against BJS and if the left hook doesn't work he has something to fall back on.
