I was in a movie theater waiting to see Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation and the Mayweather-Berto ad came up. There was a collective grown. A couple people two seats away from me said out loud "Who is gonna pay for another Mayweather fight??".
They didn't seem like boxing fans either. I'm really curious how this PPV will do, but I seriously doubt SHO will release the results, if it bombs.Comment

SHO doesn't release numbers anymore unless the fight breaks records. So unless this fight does 4.4M, you'll have to settle for industry rumors.I was in a movie theater waiting to see Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation and the Mayweather-Berto ad came up. of course.
he retired the first time when welterweight was the deepest and best division in all of boxing.
now its de ja vu all over again. his selection of one of the worst fighters in ONCE AGAIN, the deepest and best division of all boxing plus his preemptive retirement after said fight is basically another straight duckage similar to his first fake retirement right after the hatton fight where he left prime margarito, prime cotto, prime paul williams, younger shane, upcoming welter pacquiao fights.
he'll come back once wetlerweigtht settles down and they beat each other up then floyd will come back again. like he did after he beat career 140 hatton at 147 right after collazo beat hatton.
shameless tactics you can see from a mile away if you have any ounce of perceptual ability, intellect, and common decency as a human being.Comment

It's sad because there are so many haters of this dude. As a fan of the sport of boxing, I'll be glad that I've been able to witness this dudes career since 1996.
Whether you like him or not, which most people don't, the fact remains, he is a gifted boxer, may be a very gifted boxer in an era not as good as others, but in our lifetime, aside from a few others, it was a treat to watch this man box and grow from the Olympics to where he is today.
Once the elites retire in this division ie Floyd/Manny, there isn't anything elite. There won't be a boxer for a while who set's themselves apart from the rest as far as pure boxing ability goes, and defensive acumen.Comment
