The moment the original story came out about the 30 million vs the 10 million I laughed.

We know that Cotto because he's the champ, will make a bit more but Canelo is the bigger draw.

It's most likely 60-40 because of the venue and the fact that Cotto has the belt. The venue alone was a huge deal since the fight really was supposed to be held in NYC. Madison Square Garden outbid everyone. Vegas will be packed with Mexicans and will favor Canelo. That doesn't come with a cheap price.

Oscar don't want Canelo to start having thoughts about his plans after his GB contract is up lol. That guarantee is an advertisement to every fighter in the business.

Cotto gets paid by Roc Nation, and they've been taking care of Ward and I don't doubt they'll do the same for Cotto in such as big fight. They probably don't give him any of the outside revenue though, which is straight considering the guarantee

its obvious oscar is being put in a bad spot here. even if the negotiations were closer to 50 50 that just means gbp is taking canelos money

Anyone with half a brain knew that those rumored numbers were some bs. No way Cotto is that much more valuable than Canelo right now. If Roc Nation wants to overpay him to try and entice other top fighters to sign with them so be it but the fight revenue was never going to be that far apart.
Cotto deserves a bigger piece of the pie, he is the champion and he is a veteran, but not that much more.
