Comments Thread For: De La Hoya Feels The Moment is Perfect For Canelo

On September 14th, 2013, a 23-year old Saul Alvarez squared off against Floyd Mayweather and quite frankly, didn't have all that much success in losing a unanimous decision. 'Canelo' was a talented young fighter who came into that bout with the WBA and WBC junior middleweight titles but was simply out-classed by Mayweather.

And if he loses DLH can claim he got his secret blueprint mixed up with the Pacquaio one.

I know there are no other big stars, but if he wins, he still doesn't speak English as another poster put up, he was embarrassed by Floyd, and he doesn't seem like he will be able to dominate at MW unless it stays weak, and he definitely won't do 168

I think there are other big stars but none as big as Canelo if he wins.

                Floyd will be retired
Most wont care that he doesnt speak english
Hel will stay fighting at CW (Caneloweight not Catchweight) and will be a big enough name to bring fighters up or down.

After this will be a soft touch, i hope not but feel it will be, a victory parade fight.

Not saying he will be the best but he will be the biggest

He had his oppurtnity 2 years ago to be the face of the sport and failed. Cotto can't pass a baton he doesn't have.
