Comments Thread For: Roach: Lomachenko-Rigondeaux - Best Fight Out There

Trainer Freddie Roach would love to see a battle of world champions between two of the best amateur fighters in history Vasyl Lomachenko (4-1, 2KOs) and Guillermo Rigondeaux (15-0, 10KOs). Each boxer has captured two Olympic gold medals.

Lomachenko is the WBO's champion at featherweight and Rigondeaux has the WBA/WBO world titles at super bantamweight.

I agree its the best close to prime 4 prime fight to be made (reason I say close to is because I do not believe lomo has hit his professional prime yet where I believe rigo has). The reason its so intriguing is cause of that fact though, two great skilled fighters that are neither past it nor damage and very little reason for people can write off the victory minus catchweights.

I think Rigo is slightly past it and Lomachencko is in his prime. He's been looking slower in his past few fights. However, I think Rigo has the better resume and is the more experienced pro.

Rigo wins it , he is the best , a master . Rigondeaux exposed ducknaire , while salido exposed loma . That says a lot , riigo exposed the no 4 PPP fighter at the time , who weighed 142 fight night while rigo weighed 126 .

Team Loma is just using rigos name , if they want to fight the wbo wba and ring magazine champ , they should go to 122 , or a catch weight at 124 or 126 with a cut at 135 , fight night .

Who is the best ? Who got more title ? Who is undefeated ? Rigondeaux is .

By the wait , Loma : Walters is looking for you ; he only weighs 127 ; it is only 1 pound , man , ha ha ha .

Hit and not be hit ; can not hit what you don't see .

Surprised he would admit that it will be a boring fight for a lot of fans since they are both so good it will be fight such a high level it will be hard to get any offense in. But it's hard argue these guys are so skilled. This fight is up there with ggg ward and Stevenson kovalev, Canelo ggg etc but as far as 2 best fighters this is it. Hopefully they can find a realistic common ground

i agree with cw of 126 being that rigo should really be a 118 guy and lomo should be 130-135..i'm seeing a pattern with lomo and his match macking he was taller that russell jr same wight..he's taller and weight more than rigo...and he lost to a guy that did weigh more than him...i dont like the way he wont fight walters due to 1lb like really? it has nothing to do with titles in the division we know that is the best fight TR has andhe wont take it

i got more for you..rances barthelemy vs javier fortuna...javier fortuna vs yuri gamboa, andrade vs canelo, andrade vs ggg, roman gonz vs rigo, walters vs lomo, thurman vs porter, porter vs bradley,

this fight may be the best boxing match but fight?? no not fight...hope its at least a rehydration clause in it bc i know wat lomo wants to do..and i'm tired of boxers and their scaling tactics to win or get edges in fights

This is the fight I most want to see in boxing. I hate catchweights, but I think a rehydration clause is more than fair.

If this fight happens, Sugar Ray Leonard vs Wilfredo Benitez would have to be pushed down to # 2.
