Ward is chasing guys who are smaller than him in a division below him whilst expecting them to agree all terms on his side and for them to move up weight to make the fight happen

This has been in the news for a week now - will he wont he - why the hesitation?

It's because he's not sure he can make weight at 168 anymore and so he's not sure whether to look for a SMW or LHW opponent.

His mind says he wants to make 168, his body says 175.

If Ward ends up as the co-feature, I'm buying the PPV on HD and likely hosting a party at my house.

If Ward doesn't end up on the show, I'll probably be going to my usual sports bar, catch the fight for the $20 cover and probably go bar-hopping after (Depending on what else is going on that weekend, i may end up just skipping the fight and following the results online).

The "Mexico vs Puerto Rico" thing has no impact on my enjoyment of the fight (or the actual interest from the casual audience) and, barring Ward on the card, I'm not sure that Golden Boy has enough viable talent to make for a compelling show.

I'll take a P4P fighter being added for a PPV all day. [UNLESS adding him makes the financials such that Vargas v Miura is displaced - I thought I read it was going to be on the undercard, but I don't see it on Boxrec so now I'm wondering.]

If that fight is added for sure, and also Ward, then yeah this will be a memorable card (something for everyone). He adds value

Also if you hate him, maybe you underestimate how cathartic it will be to see that many people booing him at the same time yeah? If you bought a ticket you get to do it in person. Gotta be worth something



I hope they find an opponent the fans can root for so WArd has time to break him down systematically like he did Smith. Obviously mismatch but I was entertained by how he went about that nonetheless, I wanted to watch him keep working tbh. Probably in the minority on this, but I wouldn't mind watching another fight like that. At least it would be in its rightful place, on an undercard

His trainer has said he needs 2 or maybe 3 rust shaking fights. Lets get them out of the way - this is a good time to do it.

You don't shake rust by fighting every 6 months after you've been away almost 2 years.

Andre should just go ahead and take the opportunity to fight in front of a large crowd like he has done before, put on a great performance like he has done before and then call out triple G in front of everyone.. I'm willing to bet if he puts on a dominating performance triple G fans will run and scream for Kovalev to save him.

He would look to be an idiot if he straight up called out a fighter in a lower weight division. He should try getting a few good fights in his own division and get to be known by a few casuals. I agree he should take a fight on this card - good for his exposure - he acts like he is 21 and has all the time in the world.
