I disagree, 50 just thought he'd come in and pimp and exploit boxers/boxing to maximize his profits like he's done with every entertainment field he's been in (music, movies, clothes, ect.). Problem for him was, the established guys, who are probably even greedier and sleazier than him, weren't going to let his some new guy just come and dictate things without putting in work. 50 was banking on Mayweather and possibly Haymon having his back so it's no surprise he completely failed and ended up being ran out of boxing when they didn't want anything to do with him. You can tell by his relationship with the boxers he had (Gamboa, Dirrell, ect.) that he just didn't care about them once he saw being a boxing promoter wasn't going to be a quick and bankable money grab.
Jay Z, however, looks to be doing a much better job and appears to have a more grounded plan to succeed in the boxing business. It's no surprise though, Jay Z has always been superior to 50 in every business avenue. Possibly because Jay actually puts forth the effort and shows passion in everything he does unlike 50 who has always been trying to make a quick buck with cheap marketing tricks and gimmicks.
