He's gotten the better fights of the two, but somehow If I was Kovalev I'd be piss that my fight purse is in constant flux from 500k to 3.5 mill to 750k despite being under a lucrative HBO deal. Duva should be focused on putting Kovalev in there with the best $$ money fights no matter what the situation, get HBO to put money behind her and position Kovalev to challenge for the no1 p4p spot. She's done the opposite while haymon has positioned his fighters in the WBA and IBF to force purse bids that she isn't gonna be able to win.

Like all fighters I wish that Kovalev gets paid well, but getting the best fights is more important. Financially Stevenson may be better off, but a fighter's career is hardly defined by the money they earn, Kovalev has been building himself while Stevenson doesn't have half the clout he used to have. Kovalev might not be the lineal champion, but everyone knows he is the man at 175.

at this rate eventually his title will change hands the peter quillen way..shameful but i agree strick one network only contracts are not in a fighters best interest..they are in the interest of the companies ratings..

kovalev only got the hopkisn fight bc he took 500k for it..stevenson and haymon told hopkins to suck it with those numbers and dang well should have..

pascal was right behind kovalev for the shot at the wbc belt...when kovalev dropped the purse bid he would have been number 1..but that clown rushed stevenson like he couldnt wait..talkin about 60/40 50/50 bc he is the3 bigger draw...stevenson would have took him to purse bid and took a 75-25 deal..pascal didnt like that so he rush kovalev now he's nothing in the division..HIS FAULT..

hopkins is not a huge draw...he's not a bigger draw than adonis in canada..hopkins wanted venue higher pursue and everything his way vs a lineal champ! NO!..plus like i said he stevenson is going to sell big anytime he touches canada..and if u put in a good opponent it only gets better

and screw pascal he tried to negotiate with the fans instead of at the table and with common sense...
