he put victories together because he went back to using his left hook and boxing more he beat guys bigger then him his comeback is not a sham when the catch weight didn't even bother Martinez or geale he just make an excuse for him to quit

He beat a one legged Martinez who himself during the HBO interview said he hadn't done any road work and was still flabby as hell a month before the fight..Go look at the Martinez balancing board video as well. Sarmiento did not want him to fight at all, it was either be stripped and be at the mercy of boxing politics again or take the biggest payday available. Cotto won the fight but let's not rewrite history to put it in the best of light. Martinez was going to be stripped, had a mandatory, an offer, was not medically cleared when this fight was signed and wasn't until 32 days before the fight and miguel swooped in put a check on the table and bought a belt. THE END.

Fans from both sides are just talking non-sense, which is understandable due to the rivalry between PR and MX. Unfortunately, you can't have a legit debate with fans on either side. On paper looks pretty even. Cotto has the experience, better corner, better footwork, probably the best weapon out of the 2 w/ that lethal left hook. Canelo on the other hand, is younger and fresher, bigger, imho physically stronger than Cotto, better hand speed and combinations, so it's a very interesting fight. Both fighters are really good finishers so if either hurt the other early it will be a short night and their fans will claim the other fighter was all hype.

It'll be Canelo's straight rt and uppercuts vs Cotto's jab and lt hooks, both have really good inside game to me they both very even here, and can work the body really well. Mid-range I favor Canelo, Cotto doesn't want be here, he wont survive 6-7 rounds here. Long range is Cotto's, better foot work, better attacking angles, better jab, he'll beat Canelo easily at this range. So, the way I see it is Canelo early to mid rounds and Cotto late in the fight. I say this cause Cotto has a better corner and he can adapt his game better than Canelo, I also seen Canelo getting frustrated when things don't go his way.

A win over Canelo cements Cotto as an all-time great. Period.

I will depend on what Canelo will do after the loss. Lets not remember that it will mark Canelo as losing to the only 2 A fighters he has ever fought. All time great its a loose term nowadays.

A win over Canelo legitimises the notion of this new "reinvented" Cotto under Freddie Roach.

History tends to favor great comeback stories. If he defeats Canelo it will be viewed as one of the greatest career comebacks ever.
