  • Comments Thread For: Cunningham: Marco Huck Was Sheltered and Overrated

Steve Cunningham only saw the last two rounds of Marco Huck’s knockout loss to Krzysztof Glowacki earlier this month — after all, Cunningham was fighting Antonio Tarver in the main event on the same card in Newark, New Jersey, and had been getting ready for his own bout.

But he saw Huck’s demise coming.

Cunningham was quite familiar with Huck, having stopped him back in late 2007 when Cunningham was toward the beginning of his first cruiserweight title reign and Huck was still two years away from winning a belt of his own.

I agree with Steve. Huck is good but should've lost before Glowacki. Good thing Glowacki made sure he was down and not getting up

Cunningham is right. Huck Looked great against weak opponents and struggled mightily when he stepped up. He faced Ola 3 times, all close fights but he ended up getting the nod in each fight (expect for the 2nd one which was a draw). He def. should have lost to Lebedev, that was a robbery. Then of course he got stopped by Cunningham earlier in his career.

He also gets hit a lot and his defense isn't the best. With his type of fighting style I'm not sure he'll ever be able to get back to the top again. There is opportunities as there isn't one clear cut fighter who is head and shoulders above the rest. Hernandez himself is vulnerable. I think Lebedev maybe the best, but he lost to Jones recently. I'd still take both of those guys over Huck though. Drozd too.

Huck is all right and can pack a punch but faced with a B level fighter he will lose outside of Germany.

Huck just pulls straight back with no defense at all. Surprised he lasted this long

Huck still had an impressive run for someone who started boxing late.

He just got caught like Manny did against Marquez or David against Rubio. He's an entertainer and the latters become reckless at times.
If he has a strong will, which I think he does, he will come back stronger!
