I'm taking Mares. Both these guys have been disappointing in the past few years after initially looking like killers early in their careers. Conventional wisdom says a big puncher beats a pressure fighter. Leo couldn't stop that stiff in his last fight, if that guy had a punch like Mares it would've been a bad night for Leo.

man I can't wait to be at the fight with a beer in one hand, my girl on the other.. seeing a good scrap!!!

I love both guys.. I really can't see a clear winner here.. other than al haymon.. but I will go with the untouched Leo to overwhelm Mares.. just hope he can take the punches cause Mares is gonna put some leather on him..

      Leo by SD or UD..

hmmm...this one is a hard to predict...too many variables. Pre-Gonzalez loss I would definitely say Mares, but after that loss he looked shaky and unsure of himself at times. LSC is moving up in weight, need to see how strong he will be at this weight + quality of opposition in the last couple of yrs has been really poor. I'll say if Mares can work the body and make LSC respect his power, he'll have a very good chance to win, but if he doesn't it will be all LSC in the 2nd half of the fight. LSC volume punching and cardio may overwhelm Mares; making him fight faster than he wants!!! I have no idea, but it has all the ingredients of being a really good scrap!!!

Leo Santa Cruz by a hand twitch...lol.

Nah i'm backing Mares but he probably doesn't get the decision on the scorecards since there is more staked in santa cruz than his future.

Don't think that Mares has the power to keep Santa Cruz off of him, should be good as long as it lasts. I'm thinking after this Haymon is matching Santa Cruz up with Russel Jr.
